![]() ![]() Strong Cache is a simple module which allows the state of the StrongARM cache to be toggled at any time. This is particularly useful as it enables many games to work on the StrongARM processor. Because the majority of problems running older games on StrongARM is caused by poorly written software protection systems, which use self modifying code, it is often possible to run these programs by turning the Cache off (*CACHE OFF). However, once the game has successfully loaded it is necessary to turn the cache back on, otherwise the program runs far too slowly. Unfortunately, it is often impossible to gain access to the command line to do so, hence Strong Cache. Strong Cache works using a combination of key presses to toggle the status of the cache. Pressing these key combinations at any time causes the state of the cache to be either switched on or off. Therefore, a quick key press to disable the cache, followed by loading your chosen game - then another quick key press to enable the cache again helps many games titles to run successfully.
Strong Cache is known to fix :-
We would also like to thank Alex Card for the great amount of testing he has performed using Strong Cache on more games than we knew even existed!
